Penetration Comments[]

For a Miracle to get through another Noble's Auctoritas, it has to have a penetration value at least equal to the other Noble's Spirit. The total miracle level does not matter if the penetration is not high enough. Also, creating a fireball would be a level 4 Lesser Creation Miracle. Level 2 would be a Lesser Divination, which isn't capable of producing fireballs.

I'm also not sure I understand some of the other mechanics you're explaining here. Deltafalcon 17:21, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Well... Hehe... What can I say, I'm a moron. Too much D&D I suppose.

For starters Auctoritas=Spirit anytime or place, although some random factors can boost or decrease that value, depending on the HGs wit. In my case, gifts and artifacts boost Auctoritas (Hollyhock rule supreme over rules so count that as optional). As for Penetration, that's something I ain't really sure.

Imagine Auctoritas as a Armor Class if you will. Since there's no random bonus, it's pretty much a Magic the Gathering conflict, the strongest wins. Regarding he Miracle level was just a lapse because one of my characters has the ability to conjure fireballs as a gift (it cost me 2 CP when I made it and I forgot about the drawbacks).

As for combat goes, here are my reference: Page 62 and onwards.

The heroes are fighting an Excrutian shard which happens to be a Mimic of the Power of Guns. Combat is turned based. First the Nobles acts, then their foes. A conflict of bullet dodging happens somewhere (can't recall) in which the power shoots the bullets and the nobles dodge (or the other way around) in a display of extreme power play. There are missiles launched, explosions, helicopters and the heck you can else see in an action flick.

The combat rules I mention in this page are based on my own experiences when dealing with combat. They are not official but should be considered for usage in combat driven Nobilis games.

You as a Nobilis player should know: combat rules references in the rulebook are nearly non existing because obviously Nobilis is a social based game and as such only refers to social interactions. But that doesn't mean Nobilis doesn't need a combat system, and if it's based on actual evidence found in the Rulebook, the better.

I can off course, create a template to clearly state which rules are official and which rules are not. But Nobilis Wiki is not an attempt to mimic the rulebook (that would be a copyright violation) but rather to shape the game to make it more accessible to broader audiences but collecting the same essence, basic rules and lore of the game.

But your right, I'm going to review everything I wrote so far and stick to the actual rules. Optional stuff will be kept in a area for it's own. Kailden Jera 00:37, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
